My Place in England

Me at home (an old photo circa 2001)  :-)

Hi Guys,

I managed to motivate myself and go do some shopping this week.  I bought myself a new printer/scanner/copier combo thingy and a new camera, all I need do now is learn how best to use them  :-)

I thought therefore on this first attempt at using them, to show you around my place here in the UK.  It may not be as good as showing you around in person, but hey! at least I can show you some of the place  :-)

Okay, here is were I live:

Kirton Farm Cottage

Look’s big doesn’t it???  and way to big for me to live in.  Sadly I couldn’t afford to rent it if I wished too, but who needs a whacking great house anyway???  I'm a simple single guy living on my own, and really don't need it.  Actually, I live out back in the garden.  So let’s go out back for a look see, but careful, first meet our guard dog Max, he don’t like uninvited strangers:

Max on guard

This leads around into the back garden were I live in a large Mobile home, or Trailer as guys in America might call it:

I call it Pagan Place  :-)

Located out in the middle of nowhere, I’m surrounded by woods, lakes and nature.  So lets have a quick look around.  Out the front of the cottage and just across the road is a big lake:

Down the path to the left is where I found a fossilized ‘Holy Stone’, which I presented to ‘Pari’ the author of many of the stone articles on my website during my visit to New Jersey last yearTo the right of these pic’s and on the other side of the lake is a large hotel, they use the lake for power boat water skiing events.

As grand a view as that may offer, my favourite place is just outside the back garden.  Look at this:

This place is truly spectacular and reminds me of a children’s song from long ago:  “If you go down to the woods today, you’re sure of a big surprise”  :-)  Let’s take a walk around the lake:

Shhhh!!  Quiet now, I hear something?  Wha’sat??  Quack…Quack!!!  Ducks  :-O

Sadly, the ducks are playing on the other side of the lake, and the zoom on this camera is not good enough to capture them in detail, if I try to get too close to them they quickly scatter in a noisy mass of splashing wings and fly away  :-(  Maybe if I try further down I can sneak up quietly and get a better pic??

Shhhh!!  There’s something near that bank??  I’m sneaking up very quietly to try and see.  Shhhh!!  Easy now nearly there, “wha’sat”, something white??  Swan’s  :-)

Whoohooo!!  I even managed to get a close up:

Well that's it guy's, but I think you will agree, this is a wonderful place to be  :-)

Have a nice Day.

Dove of Peace

Help send a message of peace around the world!  The Dove of Peace flies from site to site, through as many countries as possible.  It does not belong to ANY belief system.  Please help make a line around the globe by taking it with you to your site, by giving it to someone for their site, by passing it on to another continent or to the conflict areas of the world.  May trouble and strife be vanquished in it's path.
