Quotes and things to ponder.

Strolling through a dictionary of quotations one night, I picked up the following quotations which sparked my imagination and made me being to ponder:

Joseph Addison  (1672 - 1719):

Soon as the evening shades prevail,

The moon takes up the wondrous tale,

And nightly to the listening earth,

Repeats the story of her birth.

Whilst all the stars that round her burn,

And all the planets, in their turn,

Conform the tidings as they roll,

And spread the truth from pole to pole.

Thus I live in the world rather as a spectator of mankind than as one of the species.

So, we’ll go no more a roving,

So late into the night,

Though the heart be still as loving,

And the moon be still as bright.

For the sword outwears its sheath,

And the soul wears out the breast,

And the heart must pause to breathe,

And love itself have rest.

Though the night was made for loving,

And the day returns too soon,

Yet we’ll go no more a roving,

By the light of the moon.

So, we’ll go no more a roving,
